When a cleaning won't make a drive read for me, I get a small LCD flashlight
and a magnifying glass and carefully peek in at the heads to be sure they're
not bent or torn off as can sometimes happen with drives having suffered
force-damage. I used to see that occasionally when a floppy was pressed into a
stiff drive too hard, or the head couldn't move down out of the way on inject
or eject.

I cleaned the heads with IPA and cotton swabs and it still doesn't read disks
properly. I guess I am looking for another floppy drive that works now. =(

Yes, I did look, it didn't seem too unusual. Should I swab the floppy heads
with some IPA? I am wondering if the motor could get messed up if the floppy
resists spinning.  I am guessing the squealing noise was from extra
friction/resistance.
