Hello - I'm trying to get an old mac running and am running into a problem with a IIsi (which has been sitting in my basement for probably 15 years or more). It is basic machine without any additional cards added, and connects to a 15" Sony via a MacView adapter (which has jumper switches set to 640x480 @66hz I think). If I hit the power button the machine turns on, the fan runs, the green light turns on, but there is no chime, and nothing on the screen (seemingly no signal). However, if I push option/command + power button on the keyboard, the screen turns white, so the keyboard seems to work and the graphics card is able to send some sort of plain white screen to the monitor.
The hard drive whirrs a bit, but doesn't seem consistently to be searching, and it does seem to act up more when I press that key combination. I recently replaced the PRAM battery with a brand new one since I read that could cause problems but there doesn't seem to be any difference in behavior. Any ideas on next steps for troubleshooting?
