Hi group.

I have an old G3 Flower Power iMac with a DVD drive that appears to be
failing. The drive runs fine - reads and plays cd's and dvd's. When I try
to eject a disc is when I get the problem. It huffs and puffs and then
barely pokes the edge of the disc out. Quick fingers can snag the edge of
the disc and help coax it out.

I would like to replace the failing drive, but a standard optical drive
won't fit and a slim "laptop" drive won't work due to the connections.

If you know of a converter/compatible drive let me know (MCE still sells a
combo drive for an arm and a leg that is compatible).

Alternatively, if there is a way to repair the failing drive I'm open to
fixing it.

Thanks.
Jon.
