Is the Classic's CPU soldered or in a socket? The
adaptor that adds a IIci type cache slot to the
Mac II, IIx and IIcx replaces the CPU and AMU
or MMU on the Mac II, the CPU on the IIx and IIcx.

The SE/30 adaptor shown in the book has a second
slot mounted horzontally below the upright PowerCache
slot. Looks like it's possible to then plug a NIC
or videocard in there. That would preclude some of
the second internal hard drive setups though.

Wouldn't it be nice if this manual plus the manuals
for the Classic, Color Classic, SE and LC III
adaptors were available as acrobat files? :)

DayStar would swap you any type adaptor for any other
straight across, no charge, in case you wanted to
move the PowerCache to a different Mac.

(It's no wonder the things cost so much with a 128
page paperback full color manual covering all the
different Macs, instead of just instructions
specific to one type of Mac.)
