In fact, I were eager to know how you managed to get this stuff running under MacOS 8.6 and how you were able to turn multifinder off. I'm still stuck in my endeavour to run a VideoWorks 4.0-presentation (the immediate predecessor of MacroMind Director 1.0) under MacOS 7+.
