That would be the next step in determining the problem:
If the monitor still works fine on your computer, I would suspect
maybe a near dead PRAM battery in his computer. (May be other things.
But, it's a place to start)
If the monitor is dead on your computer too...
Hmmmm... Could be coincidence... 2 monitors in a row, on the verge of
going on the fritz.
On the other hand, could be his computer is putting out some sort of
spike discharge through the video port that is killing monitors.
If that's the case... Time to call out our super-hero! "By day,
he's a mild mannered, fellow... frolicking in the woods, or, fishing
by a trout stream in Kennedy meadows... By Night*** He's APPLE
TECH!!!"
