Thanks Vern. The computers are actually 68030-family Mac II's. No compact
Macs at this time. The main difference between these and the SE/30s, I
think, is color display capability. 

Yes, please send links to quality age-appropriate freeware (ages 12-14)! I
downloaded Nisus Writer, I'll give that a try.
