Dear Vintage Macs: Recently, I helped a friend, who is just beginning to learn about computers, set up her Performa 580CD, which was donated by a neighbour. One of the programs which I downloaded for her was ICQ version 1.7.2, which is specifically designed to work on 68k Macs. But before installing this program on her machine, I tried it on one of my own 68k Macs and it refused to work.
After installing this version of ICQ, I tried to set up my user profile. When I tried to register this new profile, it simply refused to connect to their servers. Has anyone else encountered such difficulty? If so, are there any viable solutions? Roland :) -- Vintage Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
