Something like a router would be the best route in a case like this.

Otherwise, you'll want to find and install Open Transport and whatever kind 
of connection software you need. If your DSL uses PPPoE, then something 
like Enternet 100 would work. I think I still have a copy around here if 
you can't find it, though I'm not sure about the legal status of it is. I 
got it for free from my ISP (Earthlink).

However, PPPoE is a horrid thing that should go away, and burdening the 
IIsi with it will slow things down noticeably. Get a router. They're cheap. 
And good for security too.
