Dear Vintage Macs:

Sorry for the double post, but my computer crashed.

Dear Vintage Macs:

Recently a friend's Mac II drive refused to mount. The classic flashing question mark
icon appeared on the screen and wouldn't go away. I know that the drive is still
working because I can hear its internal mechanism whirring away.

I accessed an old copy of Norton Utilities 2.0 to see if I could do some repairs on
this disk so that I could at least retrieve the data on this drive. Unfortunately,
Norton's couldn't do anything.

Today, I took the drive to the computer store where I work and used the facilities in
our service department to work on this drive. I tried running Disk Warrior, but it
could see the drive at all. I used Apple System Profiler to see if it could see the
drive, but this proved to be a dead end.

Are there any other options that I can pursue to get the data off this old drive?

Roland :)
