Apple's Power Macintosh Upgrade Card would work in the Centris & Quadra 
650/700/800/900/950 and maybe 610. This card worked with OS 7.1.2 through to 8.1. 
There was also a 601 Processor Upgrade Card for some of the 68040 LC's. I don't know 
what third party options there were.
