Hello, Y'All,
Is there anyone who "KNOWS" a 64MB chip, 72-pin of course, won't work in an LCIII? I just want to know. I'm an eBay rummager and want to know before I just have to bid on a chip and find out for myself.
In my experience, sadly no, it won't work. It will likely work as a 16MB SIMM. I have a pair of 64MB 72-pin SIMMs which work in LC 475 and 575 boards, but not in LCIII, Quadra 840av or my 040/40MHz Amiga 1200 upgrade card. In all cases where they 'don't work' they show up as 16MB.
Also in order for it to work in LC x75 machines it has to be single bank RAM, if that means anything to you...
