Same here, though my reasoning is probably different: these machines will run NetBSD and Mac OS very well, and seem to be well built. I would probably take the SE/30 because the island clearly has a generator and the SE/30 is certain to use less power than a IIci plus monitor. It would probably be possible to run a radio with that saved power, and keep in touch with the outside world.
