The original 160mb hard drive in my MacTV died. The smallest thing I could get was 4gb. My OS 7.5.3 (boot) CD does not recognize that there is a new hard drive at all. The drive spins up, so I know at least it's installed correctly and getting power. I guess I also know there is no SCSI ID conflict because the CD is booting the system.
Is there a max size that the MacTV BIOS (or OS 7.5.3) can see, and it's ignoring the new HD? Is it possible that there is a SCSI setting jumper that is non-MacTV compliant? Help!
