Forget that.
I did a little searching through the newsgroups, and it turns out I was using the wrong printer driver, I should have been using the LaserWriter 300/LS 1.2 driver, rather than the LaserWriter 8 driver.
Its all working find now!

The printer powers up, the green power light stays on steady, the internal fan stays on, and there is a little bit of cogs turning at the start, then the printer just sits there. There isn't a test page, and I can't get it to show up in the Chooser.
Does this printer sound dead?
