Yes, they doubled the memory bus width on PowerMac models requiring RAM to be fitted in pairs of the same size and speed rating.


Is it a flat pizza box with a center plate (or CD) or a rectangular box with the plate (or CD) on the right side? You may have a 610, it only had two slots. I don't remember an upgrade, but if it's the pizza box, you might have an upgraded model (or someone put the wrong sticker on the front).

Even the 6100 PowerMac only has 2 slots and 8MB on board. Mine currently has 72MB of RAM in...
