it could easily be the adapter. the etherprint may require a wall wart that is filtered/regulated (which some adapters are but not the cheaper ones) and the radioshack unit may not be either. that seems more likely than a bad network port unless the connector is dirty or has a bad solder joint. in any case, definitely return the radio shack adapter. i've never had an etherprint and haven't looked at one for a while so i really can't be sure about that. i'm assuming that since you say "it worked perfectly" that the etherprint did something? it's possible that some if it might still work but not the network port if the power supply wasn't what it wanted since the logic part of it doubtless has it's own 5v regulator and possibly some filtering or enough filtering to skid by. just a thought before you trash the etherprint.
