Hey Gregg...

It's not that it jams on anything...it prepares the cartridge to print, then just when it's about to print, the error and power lights come on.

Sorry, I should have been more specific.

Ok, I tried to print, and every time I try to, the

the PrintMonitor comes back with an error.

The drive belt you reinstalled is out of sync.

Try this. Take the belt off and push the carriage
all the way to the right, turn the printer on and
wait for all action to stop, then turn it off.

Put the belt back on without moving the carriage any.
Most inkjet printers have a "home" switch or sensor
so they know when the carriage is in the parked
position, then they can count drive motor steps to
determine where the carriage is.

Some printers can compensate for a belt slipping a
tooth or like your case where it came off. They
run the carriage to the right until the home sensor
is tripped, then the controls know where everything
is.

Apparently that Stylewriter only uses its home sensor,
if it has one, to prevent banging the carriage into
either end. If it has any compensation it can't do
very much. Either that or the home sensor isn't
working. (A common problem on the HP
Deskjet/Deskwriter
500 series. Built like a tank, except for the leetle
teeny tiny FRAGILE lever that the massive carriage
slams into and eventually breaks so the home switch
quits working.)
