So what are the basics for PS repair (is there a PDF or book on the
subject)?

A while ago I had a dead 950 PS and ended up grabbing a working unit from a
yellowed 950 I recieved. I still have the old 950 supply just incase I ever
need something from it (or got brave enough to fix it).
