Hi folks,

I recently inherited a Powerbook 500 with PowerPC upgrade card. First I had
battery issues with it, and then the System folder got corrupted. I've since
done a fresh install of 7.5.3 on it.

However, it's now developed a weird bug which definitely wasn't there before
installing 7.5.3. If I try to copy a file to or from a floppy, the System
hangs. It does this with extensions disabled, too. Trying a different floppy
makes no difference.

In each case, the "Copy" window pops up with "Items Remaining to be copied:"
but the progress bar is at zero, the mouse pointer stops responding and I have
to reboot.

The disk is fine, because it works okay under OS X, and I can run software from
the floppy under 7.5.3. It's just the copy process which causes the problem.

Any ideas?

Paul
