Sarah, It depends on where you live. This International Rally will be the 43rd, and they have been meeting annually since 1958. It is always the last week in June so the last day will be July 4th, which was Wally Byam's Birthday. While these rallies have been held on the East Coast and the West Coast, the prevailing sentiment now is to have them somewhere in the Mid west so it is not so far to travel, like a central meeting point. This summer, Bismarck, ND, next summer, Souix Falls, SD, then in 2002 it will be in Rapid City, SD. Even if your trailer is not ready, try to make it just to see the show. Stay in a motel and just visit. It is such a big deal, I am still amazed about how it happens with all volunteers. We build a Silver City of almost 10,000 people, over 2,000 coaches, water, limited electric, grey water lines, a post office, a message center, an Airstream store, vendors, a radio central location called Wally Byam control, meeting rooms, a convention center for ceremony, and delegates hall, and much much more. You have to see it to believe it. Then after a week, we tear it down, and we're gone, leaving only a few tracks. Bill Scott 61 Bambi
Bill and all the other Airstreamers working on this rally, I presume these rallies are held periodically, every year? At the same place? I'm so tempted to go this year but don't feel quite ready for a number of reasons. I'd make the time if I was going to miss out entirely but another year makes more sense for me. --Sarah At 02:08 PM 6/8/00 -0500, you wrote: >Scott Freeberg, > >I couldn't even begin to answer all those questions.
