Mindy, welcome to the list. When you say holes, are they just holes from missing rivets? Are they bullet holes? Are they dents and rock holes? Repairing the exterior skin is a real job, requiring some expertise. You have many choices, like push the dent out from the inside, plug the hole with a large rivet, patch it with another piece of aluminum, use a "puller", or replace the whole section or segment. Depending on your location, your best bet is go to an authorized Airstream Dealer, or even better , go to your local Airport and talk to a good A and P mechanic, (airframe and power plant) who is familiar with aluminum repair. Sometimes a good sheet metal man at your local sheet metal shop can work aluminum, or fabricate doors, covers etc. That's a start, now Mindy, how bad is that 55?? Bill Scott 61 Bambi
Hi- I am about to restore a 55' airstream which has a few small holes in the exterior aluminum panels. I am wondering what the correct way to approach this is or what my options are. Do you have any advice or know someone to refer? Thank you, Mindy
