The '75 Owner's Manual DOES list the Safari at 5800#
GVWR. This is the "not to exceed" weight. The "factory
weight without options or variable weights" is 3745 to
3800 (twin bed or double) which allows 2000+ lbs of
"goodies" to be carried. The goodie list includes
propane tanks (different sizes) & liquid, wtaer tank &
liquid, air conditioner, BAL jacks, etc. Also included
in the manual is a form to calculate the balance of
your loaded trailer to be sure that you have not
overloaded the axle and or tongue without overloading
the total.
The factory weights for the 31' model range from
4970 to 5065 for the twin vs double and rear bath vs
center. The GVWR for all of these is 7100# (in 1975).
