Pete,
I generally travel with the tank near-empty (we might want to use the
toilet during the trip), then fill it at the campground. As we don't
drink from the water system, we don't care what it might taste like; we
carry a few jugs of water from home for coffee, etc.
No need for drinking water, of course, that's what they make beer for.
