For what it's worth, we just bought some red and yellow linoleum (I'm
pretty sure) tiles made by Congoleum. They recommend sealing them and
buffing them with a buffer that heats up the wax to push it into the
cracks in the floor, making it dirt-resistant. Hopefully it will look nice
and work well for kids, adults (and one big yellow lab) alike.
