In a word, no.

 Magnesium alloy = extremely difficult to weld, can catch fire if not done 
properly, hard to extinguish if it starts burning (white hot flame that can 
burn underwater).  Some people do weld these cases behind #3 cylinder, so it 
can be done, but only by someone well-equipped (proper type extinguisher) 
and experienced with ACVW cases. A crack due to a collision is very 
difficult or impossible to fix correctly so it doesn't come back.  You'd 
have to grind out the entire crack and follow it everywhere it leads, until 
it is completely eliminated.  Then you'd have to weld it all up, 
back-filling all the ground-out areas.  The you'd have to re-machine or 
re-drill all the affected areas.  The welding process can easily warp the 
case and make all your eforts for nothing.  See where this is going?  IMHO, 
it's cheaper to start with another case.........
