Nick,

Congrats on the 20 thou hits, we'll make sure the count keeps on climbing!

You have been a great source of info especially as this aspect of the
hobby is something which delves into the finner aspects. Restoring a radio is
itself a project I think.

I have something to report on this front. Im sure you remember me posting
pics of a Blaupunkt dub radio a while ago. I found another Blaupunkt which is
much better condition than the earlier one. This is a Bremen and the push knobs
are in great shape. They are black. The turn knobs have been replaced with
silver ones and would need suitable ones to give a stock look....maybe Id have
some machined and then painted. Im guessing this is from a mid sixties car.

Yesterday I was roaming around in one of the major electronics market in
the city and found people who can repair old radios and electronics. Maybe Ill
pay them a visit soon.

One more thing of interest. Also got my hands (see, Im really looking
these days!) on a Japanese Sanyo unit. This came off a 1302 bug.Now Im 100%
positive that like people suggested earlier, this was the original radio
offered by dealers in this part of the world. The give away is simple. The
radio is incorporated into a cut out radio block off plate. Ive seen these cut
out plates on the www and the workmanship shouts it not being some
backyard/shadetree conversion.

Ive found a topic on radios on thesamba and would chime in with this info
there too. Theres a guy from Bangladesh there who is also named Asad. And I was
surprised who took up my choice ID.

    Keep up the good work!

Asad
