My 72 Bug has developed an annoying habit which comes and goes. It seems to be
worse when I haven't driven her much which has been the case lately.
Even after fully warmed up as I drive to work, anytime (actually evertime
during this morning's 4 mile communte) I am at speed (20-45 mph) and put the
clutch in to downshift or stop at a light - it stalls. I can restart and it
seems to idle OK and run OK under load but stalls whenever I depress the clutch
at any engine RPMS above idle.
Don't know if the gas has gone bad or what. This happens every few months it
seems.
Any ideas? Car runs fine and gas mileage hasn't changed much so I don't know if
it's improper tuning. Checked valves last month and they were fine.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
