Remove the screws holding the glovebox door to the hinges. Check for free movement of each hinge. Both the spring and the two rubber bumpers on each side assist the door with popping out when you press the latch button. The latch may also be binding or in need of adjustment or lube. The door or hinges may be hitting somewhere and causing it to bind. Removing the glovebox (held by one screw at the top center strap) may allow a better view of what's going on there.
