It has been quite some time since replacing the headliner in my daughter's 
'70 beetle but haven't had any issues with loosening.  It gets quite warm 
here in the Tidewater area of Virgina during the summer too.

If memory serves me right, I bought the headliner along with some 
"industrial strength glue" from JBugs
