Awhile back, one of the group made a suggestion for a great black paint to use 
to undercoat and protect the fender wells of a beetle before re-installing the 
fenders. It was for a heavy paint – not POR-15 and not a regular spray-on 
undercoater, as those are notorious for peeling and trapping crud.

 

Does anyone remember? Or better yet: does anyone have a good recommendation? 
One friend mentioned paint-on truck bed liner, but I’m skeptical.
