Wow sounds good! Been looking for alternatives. I have Whatsapp Messenger but doesn't allow calling. I tried another one but frankly it wasn't accessible once I completed sign up. So will give text free a shot. I also know of people who for example have an iPhone 3GS and so does not have Facetime. Ok I have 600 any UK network minutes a month but the idea of HD quality calls sound amazing. Again will give this a shot.

I just thought I'd share my experience so far with TextFree here. I
had used it a few years ago and let it expire, but I had reason to go
back to it yesterday actually because of texting a lot with someone on
an IPod touch that doesn't have and doesn't seem to want to upgrade to
IOS 5.x with IMessage in it. So this app is nicely accessible and has
the added benefits of being able to make and receive calls and
voicemail now. One nice benefit is you can get what if you want it to
can be a completely free additional local phone number. You could pick
another area code too if you wanted. That can give a number to put in
things or give out where you would prefer not to give your actual cell
number and if things go for any reason how you don't want them to with
that number, just let it expire. That's just a thought and there are
other ways to do that as well though. The HD quality calling is quite
nice too. The texting is always free and the calling gives you like 20
minutes a month outgoing and all incoming free. To buy a hundred
minutes more is $1.99. To get rid of the ads for a year is $5.00. What
it didn't have before when I used it a few years ago was the way to
buy more minutes. Definitely useful to have the app.
