As I said, I'm not the moderator. I also went to the Google Groups page
for this group, and I didn't see any information on what was or wasn't
on topic for this list, but I'm probably just not looking in the right
place in this new Google Groups interface. I don't have any problems
myself with someone making initial inquiries like this on this list
since I know there are some very knowledgeably people on this list and I
know people don't want to subscribe to another list just to ask a
question or two. Once it gets kind of involved though, it seems to me
like another list might be more appropriate, but again, that's really up
to the moderators. If you're understanding of the list is different than
mine then please don't stop posting on this topic just because of my
opinion. Let the moderators be the judge of that. Sorry if I overstepped
my authority.
