Tom, after you have installed it, you need to go to your settings and find bluetooth, the app, not bluetooth you find in general. Tap on it there and set the quick on/off to on. Now, go into the app switcher and remove the app bluetooth. Now when you tap on the app bluetooth from a home screen, it will simply enable or disable bluetooth. Eric

I grabbed it and loaded it onto both my iPhone and iPad. For a buck, I'll risk it. Thanks for the podcast suggestion as well. I hadn't heard of that one. Anyhow, I just downloaded the app so it is still there at this point and the cost is 99 Cents. Just do a search in the app store for "Bluetooth" and it should be the first result, the app is called "BluetoothC" by CXI Gaming. Once you downloaded the app, go into "Settings" and find the app in your app section after all the system stuff, there is just one setting you want to enable and it is called "Quick Mode". If you don't do this, the app will launch and you still have to tap to turn Bluetooth on or off and then exit the app, but with Quick Mode turned on, all you have to do is double tapp the app to toggle bluetooth on or off, you will hear a tone and the app returns you to the home screen. I just downloaded it and it works perfectly and instantly. Just as a warning, the Today in iOS listener who called this in to the Podcast said he had another Bluetooth app and not only did Apple pull it from the App Store, but when he updated to iOS 5.1.1 the app mysteriously vanished from his iPhone and presumably is now burried in Apple's unauthorized app graveyard. So, your 99 Cents may be wasted when iOS 6 comes out, but also as a heads up on the same episode it was mentioned that in the iOS 6 Beta Bluetooth has been taken out of "General" and moved right up into the main Settings where Airplane Mode and WiFi are, so while apparently in iOS 6 there once again will be no super quick shortcut or a way to turn bluetooth on or off from the status bar or with SIRI, at least it is only 2 taps away. Also, for those who are interested in news about iOS 6, there is a bit of that in almost every episode of Today in iOS as apparently not all developers care too much about the Non Disclosure Agreement they signed and send information about new features in to Rob who does the Podcast. OAnd one last bit of iPhone trivia, apparently the iPhone will be 5 years old on June 29, this is the date when the first iPhone was released in 2007... it's come a long way, let's see what it will be in 2017 and whether there will be other smartphone options that are equally accessible for us blind/visually impaired users!
