Eileen,

I hope you will keep posting these notices to the list. I find them very
useful. I tend to agree with you though that people should become
comfortable using searches to get more information. The issue may be
compounded in the App Store since there are so many apps and so many
have similar names, but someone could take a look first, and if it's
that confusing, they could ask for some more clarification. For my part,
I'll post a link or more information if I have it handy, but if not, I
assume anyone else can use the search tab in the App Store or Google
just the same as I can.

Interestingly enough, this same issue came up on another list where
someone got indignant because someone answered a question and mentioned
an application without providing a link. I pretty much repeated what I
said above, which is if I have the name of the application and the link
I'll post it, but if I have to go to Google myself then the person who
wants to know where to get the application or what it does then they can
use Google just as easily as I can.

IMHO, none of us are paid to participate on these lists, and I
appreciate any information I can get. I also worry that if the standard
operating procedure becomes only post a message if you can provide a
link and a description of the app then people will just stop posting
useful tid bits of information. Not because they don't want to but just
because everyone is busy, so they'll wait until they have time to
collect more info, and then it'll be too late.
