I'm not at home to describe this better, but with my headphones there was included a small accessory that plugs into the in-line control box, and the other into your computers USB for charging. The in-line switch does power on/off, as well as control inline volume.

They're good, as far as they go, and they supposedly have a lifetime warranty, which I'm going to have to test. I purchased a set of these, used them for an hour one day, and loved them.
