i was having a similar issue with my IPhone 4s, but the problem ended up being the MLB "at bat" app that was acting up... I was using up hundreds of mb's in just 2 or 3 days... It seemed to drop my router and not pick it back up... Although always showing wifi connectivity.

For some reason in about a week or so it fixed itself.. Maybe it's something app specific?

Subject: iPhone 4S Suddenly Seems to be Randomly Dropping of WIFI

All,

I believe I have read of this problem on this list before. I have had
my 4S since around the beginning of the year. Up until a week ago, I
have used between 20 and 30 megs of data/month. In the last week it has
begun sucking data. Specifically, it is sucking data during times when
it is feet from our WIFI router.

I called AT&T this morning and followed that up with my own examination
of data sessions over the last week. I see the usual blips I expect
when I am out. I see substantial data transfers at times when the phone
and I were right here at home sweet home. No other devices in the house
are having problems with WIFI. The setup has not been touched in months.
I have been unable to catch the phone overtly dropping from WIFI, but
it clearly is doing so. For what it is worth, this is the second iPHone
4S on this account that has exhibited behavior similar to this in the
last week and a half. The other one was replaced yesterday by Apple.
For now, I have turned off cellular data to see if I can catch it in the
act of dropping from the network. I doubt this is going to yield useful
information, but there is little else I can do.

I am interested in the experiences of others with problems similar to
this and if/how the problem was finally resolved. Thanks much!

Regards,
-Len
