It is possible to edit or add to an existing note. After selecting the note so 
that you are on the screen which has the recording and add photo buttons on it 
you can go down to the bottom of the screen to find the edit button. Once you 
have tapped on this, you can tap n the note text and add to it. The keyboard 
will come up and allow you to type however with each letter you will hear a 
clunk sound. Despite this letters will be added to the note. It is not easy to 
do much proper editing but you can at least add things. It could still do with 
a lot of improvement. It reminds me of how IOS 3.X use to deal with typing in 
some web forms
