That's great. I got a similar result when switching to iOS 8 on an iPhone 5.
I had a lot of apps on that 5 and the only thing that seemed slower under 8
than under 7.1.2 was the 3-finger swipes between my 10 pages of apps. The
opening and execution of the apps all seemed to perform as quickly under iOS
8.1.3 as they had under iOS 7.1.2.

I'm glad to report that I am noticing no slow-downs as a result of my
update to iOS 8.1.3.  When I press the "home" button in preparation to
transition from one app to another, the phone is very responsive.  The
phone overall is a bit snappier than it was under 7.1.2.
