Yes, it's not difficult at all. Once you enable two-factor verification, you'll just create an app-specific password right from Gmail's security settings. Name it, something like "mail app on my iPhone", and hit the Generate button. You'll get a 16-character string which you enter into the Mail app in place of your normal Gmail password, and that's it. You can disable this password at any time, such as if your phone is stolen or you get a new phone and need a password again.
