Thanks, Alan.

I downloaded the app yesterday and played with it some.

It’s very usable from the get-go (once I realized after signing up on the app
they needed me to reply to an authorization email before my account would be
active; I wasted a half hour repeatedly trying to sign in while being told I
couldn’t!. This was registering as a new NPR.org user.)

No commercials or underwriting (at least so far).

I found a few unlabeled buttons if I clicked on a story title, but couldn’t
quite figure them out. I also found a 3-finger swipe left or right could
sometimes change a page to different content. Don’t know any more than that now.

At one point during the login process there was an option for text or graphic.
This was during my before the email authorization phase, so I’ll make sure text
is enabled if I find it again.

Also, I noted on the Welcome email that came up after the email authrozation,
that there was a link to contact them with technical questions. They may be
amenable to feedback regarding VoiceOver usability. This is a much more
accessible and usable app than my Minnesota Public Radio News app, which my
efforts to get them to address these issues have fallen on deaf ears.

Best, Keith

Subject: More on the NPR One App

I received a welcome message from NPR One after joining and am pasting below
the information from that message:

"NPR One is unlike anything you've ever experienced from NPR and . Or anywhere.
Every day we scour the public radio spectrum to handcraft a stream of stories
that will inform, inspire and even surprise you. The latest headlines, cultural
journeys, insightful stories from the ends of the world and beyond - just pop
in your ear buds, tap the app and away you go."
