Lori,

First of all, the actual watch as well as the app are called “Apple Watch”,
there is no such thing as “iWatch”.

The Apple Watch will be available for preorder on April 11 and those who do buy
it will first get it on April 24 so until then nobody really knows what it will
be like and all one can say is based on information Apple has released. If you
are curious about what it can do the best resource is probably Apple’s keynote
from about 2 weeks ago which you can find on their website or you can subscribe
to the Apple Keynotes podcast with any podcast app.

As for the app, it can’t do really anything by itself, it is simply a way to do
things with an Apple Watch. You will, for example, have to use the app to
enable accessibility features of the watch like Voiceover and currently the
only way you can buy apps for the watch is via the app on the phone. The watch
without a connected phone at this point can’t do anything although I actually
wonder if it can at least tell the time. For example, let’s say you run out of
battery on your iPhone, do you have a completely useless piece of high-tech on
your wrist which can’t even tell you the time or can it at least do that?

Regards,

Sieghard

Thanks Larry. Have you tried the app out and if so, how do you like it? Also,
how does the i watch app compare with the actual wrist i watch? Thanks.
