Sherry, The slider bar at the bottom of the NPR one app does not work as the VoiceOver hint says. When you single finger up or down, a different percentage of play is announced but the announcer continues to talk at exactly the same spot. I noticed if you turn VoiceOver off, sliding the bar with a single finger moves your location as expected. With VoiceOver on, I find that doing a double tap and hold on the slider bar and then moving my held finger without lifting it up does move my location in the story.
I'll add that I sometimes have difficulty finding that slider bar because sometimes it seems to drop below what's on the screen. Another poster read in the NPR one FAQs that the interesting button is a work in progress. I assume it will act as a listener comment on the story button when it is functioning. To the right of the interesting button is a share button that unfortunately is inaccessible with VoiceOver turned on. I've written NPR digital services about this problem.
