The iPhone 6 Plus screens are like the earlier iPhones if you lock the
orientation in portrait mode or if you zoom the view. If you don't do either
of these things and you have the phone in landscape view, with the long
sides facing you, many screens switch to a view that is similar to iPad
screens. This happens, for example, in Settings, Messages, and Mail. So you
can choose whether to make the iPad-like views available or not.
