In the blind square settings, there's a place to select that you want the headphone remote to control blind square as opposed to music and video playback. I just discovered this afternoon than if you decide to use an app which Apple thinks of as a music app like audioboom, it will take over and you have to go into the blind square settings and indicate thatyou want it to have priority. Perhaps, that's what happens to you.
