Unfortunately, I do not think that there is one app that will let you do
that, except for those that are tied in to the cable or satellite providers.
I know that NBC and CBS also have apps, as well as PBS, I believe. I think
that TNT has an app as well. To use these apps, you will need to have an
account with a cable or satellite provider.

Thanks to Donald, I just learned of the Watch ABC app, but could folks share
other apps that are accessible for watching TV on the iPhone? I have Time
Warner cable and their app should let me watch TV at home, but I find it not
so accessible; I can see a few cable channels, but they are not ones that I
would like to watch. I would like to watch network channels. Thanks for info
about any apps that you can share.
