I use assistive touch a lot, to keep from wearing out the home button, and being able to lock the screen without wearing out the power button. Some say I am overly paranoid about wearing them out. There are a lot more things one can do within the assistive touch, under more, and device. I don't use much of that, so have no comment about most of it.

Concerning the app switcher, another way to close an app is to do a one-finger swipe down and it will say close app. Double tap and it is closed

Subject: Assistive Touch

Hi all

In iOS, there is an accessibility feature called Assistive touch found under the interaction heading. Our Hannah and I are looking into this as a way of not only simulating the hardware buttons on a device, but to also simulate gestures some may find difficult, such as three finger gestures. She knows a friend who is not only blind but has low muscle tone. This friend has recently joined the Apple Ecosystem thanks to an iPhone 4s. Due to the low muscle tone, she finds it hard to do a three finger gesture to close an app from the App Switcher for example. In your opinion, do you feel assistive touch may help? I also have a question of my own. How the heck do you stop simulating those multifinger gestures? I may have worked it out, but wonder if anyone has any ideas please?

Thank you, any replies greatly appreciated.
