I too would like to get the native calendar working. I heard the podcast but
find it tedious to remember what to do next ...

Does anyone use the the VO Calendar. (I think that was originally designed for
VI's and am not sure how flexible it is now and/or whether it's still being
actively worked on.) Do people think it's worth a consideration?

  Keith,

Are you in the month view when you double tap on the date with the events?

If you are, then you will find them at the bottom of the screen just under
the last week of the month.

The month view is like a wall calendar with each week across the screen, so
the month takes about 5 lines.

Then under the last Sunday of the month if you have the weeks starting on
Sunday, you will find your events for that day.

  HTH,

  Richard

  Thanks, Alex.

I listened to your very well done podcast twice, and followed along.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t get it to work by any of the 3 methods on either go
around, with Selected List Button, then double tap on a date with stated event,
then touch screen; unselected List , double tap, touch screen, and use rotor;
or Selected List button, touch screen, and change to Headings.

The date I chose had 2 events spoken, but nothing was there. VO simply
announced No Events or Heading Not Found.

I’m running iOS 8.3 on an iPhone 6.

Could there be a setting somewhere that’s not right

  I’m stumped.

Also, I tried Fantastical. It certainly appears promising, but it seemed
somewhat erratic on my first try – Jumping from May 2015 to December 2014 with
a simple flick, and somehow deleting an event from a week later than the date I
had selected. Could be operator error, too. I’ll keep trying, but would like to
get the native iOS app working.

  Thanks, Keith

The event did appear, but it did so silently. :) Right below the grid of days
you'll find a list of all events for the selected day, right on the same screen
as the grid. I did a podcast on the two possible list modes, because the
feature is great, but confusing. Here's the link:

    That worked great, Alex. Thanks.

I went back to double-check the event I added, found the date, it said 1
Event Button, Double tap too View Events on this Day.

When I double tap, I get no events but it states, August, Selected List
Button, Search Button, Add Button, Today Button, Calendars Button, Inbox Button.

Couldn’t figure out what to do from there. Any guidance?

    Again, thanks in advance. Keith

If you're in Month View, so you can see all the days of the month on the
screen, just touch a day and use three-finger swipes up or down to move month
by month. This should get you to the right place relatively fast. Some people
also like the Fantastical app for this purpose, since you can type something
like "appointment on November 4 ant 6" and it will figure out when the event is
automatically.

      Hi,

When I set a future event in iOS Calendar, I usually start with Today
view, but then have to advance to a future date 1 day at a time, which, for
something several months in the future, is kind of tedious.

What's the best way to schedule an event for several months out? Any
other tips on efficient use of Calendar appreciated, also.

      Thanks in advance. Keith
