Thanks Christopher; that worked; I was able to resubscribe and now it works as 
it should!

I think I know what I did wrong originally so it was definitely a learning 
experience.

I'm not sure how you subscribed to this calendar, but try going into 
Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Subscribed Calendars and double 
tapping on the calendar you want to delete. You'll see a delete account 
button at the bottom of that screen.
