Right, But the question asked if you could do this using a Bluetooth keyboard, and I think the answer is no. When you move left or right with the arrow keys, you can not choose an open spot, only dropping it on another icon, or folder.

You can simply stop moving them and lift your finger when you reach a position you want to leave them on.
